Where would you go for vacation?
OUT OF THESE CHOICES: 1.) Cancun 2.) San Antonio, TX 3.) Pheonix, AZ 4.) California and why? Assume the hotel/flight cost is the same for each. Assume you have only about $150 spending money and the trip for about 5 days. PLEASE PLEASE tell me if you think san antonio is very different from pheonix or if there pretty much the same thing. Tell me any sights to see if you know any. Thanks

Well, you should visit one of those travel sites like expedia, or travelocity.com or something like that. You can usually find a descent deal. Since it's last minute, you'll probably pay a good penny as prices tend to rise just before the day of the flight. You cannot bring liquids and gels in your carry on that are more than 3.4 ounces. The ones you do bring on board needs to be in a quart size ziploc bag. For your infant, the child can sit in your lap. Just make sure you input that you are taveling with an infant when you purchase your ticket. You can take your stroller all the way to the gate area. Just before you get on the plane, they will put a "gate claim" tag on the stroller. You can pick it up by the plane when you reach DC. When you check in, all you need is a photo ID. They'll be able to pull up your reservation number just by your last name. Oh by the way, infants fly for free. You can also put your baby formulas and stuff in your carry on. I recommend bringing something to keep the child quiet and occupied while in the air. Finally, visit http://www.tsa.gov to find out the latest in what you can bring and cannot bring on board your flight.

What Can We Do to Help Win the War on Terror?-Advice please

What Can We Do to Help Win the War on Terror?-Advice please.?
Here's the thing---------this question is not here for our normal rantings-----save that for my previous or next question. LOL I am looking for honest intelligent people to share what they feel could be of benefit to the entire free world. please read what I copied and pasted -----this blog I found in another yahoo answers question/answer-----it SURE did open my eyes up and I strongly suggest you share this info with everyone you know that values their future. Remember some of these terrorists have higher education and are articulate enough to infiltrate yahoo answers with their dis-information and anti-American hate. THE WAR Please take the time to read the essay below by Dr. Chong. It is without a doubt the most articulate and convincing writing I have read regarding the War in Iraq. If you have any doubts please open your mind to his essay and give it a fair evaluation. I had no idea who Dr. Chong is or the source of these thoughts... so when I received them, I almost deleted them - as well-written as they are. But then I did a "Google search" on the Doctor and found him to be a retired Air Force Surgeon of all things and past Commander of Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio. So he is real, is connected to Veterans affairs in California, and these are his thoughts. This WAR is for REAL! Dr. Vernon Chong, Major General, USAF, Retired Tuesday, July 12, 2005. To get out of a difficulty, one usually must go through it. Our country is now facing the most serious threat to its existence, as we know it, that we have faced in your lifetime and mine (which includes WWII). The deadly seriousness is greatly compounded by the fact that there are very few of us who think we can possibly lose this war and even fewer who realize what losing really means. First, let's examine a few basics: 1. When did the threat to us start? Many will say September 11, 2001. The answer as far as the United States is concerned is 1979, 22 years prior to September 2001, with the following attacks on us: * Iran Embassy Hostages, 1979; * Beirut, Lebanon Embassy 1983; * Beirut, Lebanon Marine Barracks 1983; * Lockerbie, Scotland Pan-Am flight to New York 1988; * First New York World Trade Center attack 1993; * Dhahran, Saudi Arabia Khobar Towers Military complex 1996; * Nairobi, Kenya US Embassy 1998; * Dares Salaam, Tanzania US Embassy 1998; * Aden, Yemen USS Cole 2000; * New York World Trade Center 2001; * Pentagon 2001. (Note that during the period from 1981 to 2001 there were 7,581 terrorist attacks worldwide). 2. Why were we attacked? Envy of our position, our success, and our freedoms. The attacks happened during the administrations of Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton and Bush 2. We cannot fault either the Republicans or Democrats as there were no provocations by any of the presidents or their immediate predecessors, Presidents Ford or Carter. 3. Who were the attackers? In each case, the attacks on the US were carried out by Muslims. 4. What is the Muslim population of the World? 25%. 5. Isn't the Muslim Religion peaceful? Hopefully, but that is really not material. There is no doubt that the predominately Christian population of Germany was peaceful, but under the dictatorial leadership of Hitler (who was also Christian), that made no difference. You either went along with the administration or you were eliminated. There were 5 to 6 million Christians killed by the Nazis for political reasons (including 7,000 Polish priests). (see http://www.nazis.testimony.co.uk/7-a.htm... Thus, almost the same number of Christians were killed by the Nazis, as the six million holocaust Jews who were killed by them, and we seldom heard of anything other than the Jewish atrocities. Although Hitler kept the world focused on the Jews, he had no hesitancy about killing anyone who got in his way of exterminating the Jews or of taking over the world - German, Christian or any others. Same with the Muslim terrorists. They focus the world on the US, but kill all in the way -- their own people or the Spanish, French or anyone else. The point here is that just like the peaceful Germans were of no protection to anyone from the Nazis, no matter how many peaceful Muslims there may be, they are no protection for us from the terrorist Muslim leaders and what they are fanatically bent on doing -- by their own pronouncements -- killing all of us "infidels." I don't blame the peaceful Muslims. What would you do if the choice was shut up or die? 6. So who are we at war with? There is no way we can honestly respond that it is anyone other than the Muslim terrorists. Trying to be politically correct and avoid verbalizing this conclusion can well be fatal. There is no way to win if you don't clearly recognize and articulate who you are fighting. So with that background, now to the two major questions: 1. Can we lose this war? 2. What does losing really mean? If we are to win, we must clearly answer these two pivotal questions. We can definitely lose this war, and as anomalous as it may sound, the major reason we can lose is that so many of us simply do not fathom the answer to the second question - What does losing mean? It would appear that a great many of us think that losing the war means hanging our heads, bringing the troops home and going on about our business, like post Vietnam. This is as far from the truth as one can get. What losing really means is: We would no longer be the premier country in the world. The attacks will not subside, but rather will steadily increase. Remember, they want us dead, not just quiet. If they had just wanted us quiet, they would not have produced an increasing series of attacks against us, over the past 18 years. The plan was clearly, for terrorists to attack us, until we were neutered and submissive to them. We would of course have no future support from other nations, for fear of reprisals and for the reason that they would see, we are impotent and cannot help them. They will pick off the other non-Muslim nations, one at a time. It will be increasingly easier for them. They already hold Spain hostage. It doesn't matter whether it was right or wrong for Spain to withdraw its troops from Iraq. Spain did it because the Muslim terrorists bombed their train and told them to withdraw the troops. Anything else they want Spain to do will be done. Spain is finished. The next will probably be France. Our one hope on France is that they might see the light and realize that if we don't win, they are finished too, in that they can't resist the Muslim terrorists without us. However, it may already be too late for France. France is already 20% Muslim and fading fast! If we lose the war, our production, income, exports and way of life will all vanish as we know it. After losing, who would trade or deal with us, if they were threatened by the Muslims. If we can't stop the Muslims, how could anyone else? The Muslims fully know what is riding on this war, and therefore are completely committed to winning, at any cost. We better know it too and be likewise committed to winning at any cost. Why do I go on at such lengths about the results of losing? Simple. Until we recognize the costs of losing, we cannot unite and really put 100% of our thoughts and efforts into winning. And it is going to take that 100% effort to win. So, how can we lose the war? Again, the answer is simple. We can lose the war by "imploding." That is, defeating ourselves by refusing to recognize the enemy and their purpose, and really digging in and lending full support to the war effort. If we are united, there is no way that we can lose. If we continue to be divided, there is no way that we can win! Let me give you a few examples of how we simply don't comprehend the life and death seriousness of this situation. President Bush selects Norman Mineta as Secretary of Transportation. Although all of the terrorist attacks were committed by Muslim men between 17 and 40 years of age, Secretary Mineta refuses to allow profiling. Does that sound like we are taking this thing seriously? This is war! For the duration, we are going to have to give up some of the civil rights we have become accustomed to. We had better be prepared to lose some of our civil rights temporarily or we will most certainly lose all of them permanently. And don't worry that it is a slippery slope. We gave up plenty of civil rights during WWII, and immediately restored them after the victory and in fact added many more since then. Do I blame President Bush or President Clinton before him? No, I blame us for blithely assuming we can maintain all of our Political Correctness, and all of our civil rights during this conflict and have a clean, lawful, honorable war. None of those words apply to war. Get them out of your head. Some have gone so far in their criticism of the war and/or the Administration that it almost seems they would literally like to see us lose. I hasten to add that this isn't because they are disloyal. It is because they just don't recognize what losing means. Nevertheless, that conduct gives the impression to the enemy that we are divided and weakening. It concerns our friends, and it does great damage to our cause. Of more recent vintage, the uproar fueled by the politicians and media regarding the treatment of some prisoners of war, perhaps exemplifies best what I am saying. We have recently had an issue, involving the treatment of a few Muslim prisoners of war, by a small group of our military police. These are the type prisoners who just a few months ago were throwing their own people off buildings, cutting off their hands, cutting out their tongues and otherwise murdering their own people just for disagreeing with Saddam Hussein. And just a few years ago these same type prisoners chemically killed 400,000 of their own people for the same reason. They are also the same type of enemy fighters, who recently were burning Americans, and dragging their charred corpses through the streets of Iraq. And still more recently, the same type of enemy that was and is providing videos to all news sources internationally, of the beheading of American prisoners they held. Compare this with some of our press and politicians, who for several days have thought and talked about nothing else but the "humiliating" of some Muslim prisoners -- not burning them, not dragging their charred corpses through the streets, not beheading them, but "humiliating" them. Can this be for real? The politicians and pundits have even talked of impeachment of the Secretary of Defense. If this doesn't show the complete lack of comprehension and understanding of the seriousness of the enemy we are fighting, the life and death struggle we are in and the disastrous results of losing this war, nothing can. To bring our country to a virtual political standstill over this prisoner issue makes us look like Nero playing his fiddle as Rome burned -- totally oblivious to what is going on in the real world. Neither we, nor any other country, can survive this internal strife. Again I say, this does not mean that some of our politicians or media people are disloyal. It simply means that they are absolutely oblivious to the magnitude of the situation we are in, and into which the Muslim terrorists have been pushing us, for many years. Remember, the Muslim terrorists stated goal is to kill all infidels! That translates into ALL non-Muslims -- not just in the United States, but throughout the world. We are the last bastion of defense. We have been criticized for many years as being 'arrogant.' That charge is valid in at least one respect. We are arrogant in that we believe that we are so good, powerful and smart, that we can win the hearts and minds of all those who attack us, and that with both hands tied behind our back, we can defeat anything bad in the world! We can't! If we don't recognize this, our nation as we know it will not survive, and no other free country in the world will survive if we are defeated. And finally, name any Muslim countries throughout the world that allow freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, equal rights for anyone -- let alone everyone, equal status or any status for women, or that have been productive in one single way that contributes to the good of the world. This has been a long way of saying that we must be united on this war or we will be equated in the history books to the self-inflicted fall of the Roman Empire. If, that is, the Muslim leaders will allow history books to be written or read. If we don't win this war right now, keep a close eye on how the Muslims take over France in the next 5 years or less. They will continue to increase the Muslim population of France and continue to encroach little by little, on the established French traditions. The French will be fighting among themselves, over what should or should not be done, which will continue to weaken them and keep them from any united resolve. Doesn't that sound eerily familiar? Democracies don't have their freedoms taken away from them by some external military force. Instead, they give their freedoms away, politically correct piece by politically correct piece. And they are giving those freedoms away to those who have shown, worldwide that they abhor freedom and will not apply it to you or even to themselves, once they are in power. They have universally shown that when they have taken over, they then start brutally killing each other over who will be the few who control the masses. Will we ever stop hearing from the politically correct, about the "peaceful Muslims"? I close on a hopeful note, by repeating what I said above. If we are united, there is no way that we can lose. I hope the factions in our country will begin to focus on the critical situation we are in, and will unite to save our country. It is your future we are talking about! Do whatever you can to preserve it. After reading the above, we all must do this not only for ourselves, but our children, our grandchildren, our country and the world. Whether Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal and that includes the Politicians

The "war on terror" is a marketing phrase. Declaring war on a concept is like getting married a song. It sounds nice but has no practical meaning.
2 :
Vote for Democrats. The GOP is losing the war, big time!
3 :
To win the war on terror, get the h*ll out of Iraq. Apply the Murtha or Joe Biden policy. If you don't know what it is, look it up. And, start doing our job right in Afghanistan by sending our soldiers there instead to get the job done.

We can stop pretending that we're at war with a type of behavior and admit that we're at war with an ideology. In 1942 we were not at war with blitzkrieg, we were at war with fascism. We are now at war with Islamofascism. Or rather, they are at war with us. They are not at war with us because of anything we've done. That doesn't mean that everything we've done is right. It just means that what we've done isn't why they're fighting us. Because if that were the case, they wouldn't have been fighting anyone until we started doing the things the Libs say are so terrible and are creating new terrorists. They've been fighting this war since the 7th century. That's 11 centuries before this country was founded. People say it's stupid for "neocons" to repeat that the terrorists hate us for our freedom (to practice other religions besides Islam or no religion at all) but the terrorists SAY that's why they hate us, so I think we should take them at their word. We need to combat the IDEOLOGY.
5 :
Continue to think logically, and examine "facts" and look for the truth. Vote conservative, the liberals don't believe in the threat. Support the troops, mission and all. Do what you can to educate others - ignorance is fast becoming a weapon of the terrorist, used again us each day in the mainstream media. If you are so compelled, join the military - if you do not feel this is your call, know that you are still an important part of the fight. Do not let anyone make you feel wrong for your support.

This is what is going to happen WHEN THE LIBERAL DEMOCRATS TAKE THE WHITEHOUSE: It would appear that a great many of us think that losing the war means hanging our heads, bringing the troops home and going on about our business, like post Vietnam. Thank you very much for that informative post.
7 :
Well first of all, just don't be afraid! The government is actually playing up all of this terrorist stuff because they want us to fear the other. IF we fear, we need a big-daddy government to "take care of us," and suddenly those pesky freedoms our country is based upon are seen as unnecessary and optional in the face of "terror." It fits into their ultimate plan, or face it, it's just plain easier to control people when you have them on the run and not paying attention to what's really going on. Power is the ultimate game in the world, and power allows the powerful to live very comfortable lives. It looks very childish in the hands of some of the world's rulers and very understated and sophisticated in the hands of others, but it is there. Those terrorists too are looking to increase their power as well, but they can only benefit in minor ways and savor the stark fear they can temporarily put in our hearts. Sometimes their actions are just a little too convenient when you scan the broader picture. Religions too, seek power, and you see it plainly in their ambitions to play roles in governments, seek favoritism, make mass converts. Supposedly based on "love" and "truth," they villify each other in their race to persuade that the "other" is false and means us all harm. Look at the post above. It's not about our nation as one of diversity living together in peace,-- it's hey, we should all be Christians and kick those Muslims asses for Jesus dude cuz they think we should all be Muslim's kicking the Christians . . etc etc. What kind of world have we wrought when we allowed fervor for mythologies, stories of ideas of creation and afterlife that any anthropology student could predict, to endanger ALL of us, including those of us who believe differently or chose not to have a belief in this stuff? You should all be ashamed of yourselves, Dr. Chong, whoever, on down. You go ahead and give up your civil rights, we're not. You go ahead and fill your narrow mind with hatred toward the other, we're not. You go ahead and fight your little battles among yourselves over your vision of afterlife, just leave the rest of us unscathed to enjoy our life here and now and to figure out or not, our difference that make us human.

I didn't read your whole thing but I will answer your original question. Be aware of your surroundings. Anything that is out of place, report it. I will give you an example, employees of a Family Dollar here in town, reported this guy that was trying to buy as many track phones as they could. The wanted to by all that they had in stock. However, Family Dollar has a two phone limit, so they reported the incident to the police. It turned out that these people were just buying them for resale but it could have been just as easy a terrorist. They did the right thing. Watch for people taking pictures of bridges, nuclear plants. ect. Just anything that is suspicious and report it.
9 :
Dr. Chong is correct. It seems a lot of Americans have thought little about all the terror attacks on Americans, especially Liberals. One would think 9/11 would be a wake-up call for us, but in less than 6 years, they want to forget again. This should not happen. It seems to me that by George Bush's actions concerning terrorism, meaning the wars with Afghanistan, and Iraq, he has brought the memories of these terror attacks towards USA back into our brains. I thank him for doing that. He won't let us forget. I won't forget. I love my country too much to forget. If anyone needs a reminder, I have a video for them. What we the US people can do to help us win the war on terror, is to run the streets with all the American flags we can hold, and scream God Bless America, and our TROOPS, we love you!
10 :
do you live in this world? its obviously not a war on terror. its so that america can steal oil. duh. and not all muslims are terrorists, why are you grouping the rest of us with them? stereotypical... and it really isn't america's business. if they're killing themselves, what does it have to do with you? yeah, if they attack your country, defend your country, but how can you defend your country in another country? that's like my putting a bullet proof vest beside me to protect myself from bullets...

I do hate it admit that the war takes more than force to be won. The locals in Iraq have to be ego challenged to create wealth in their country. As long as they choose to want revenge for past grievances outside agitators will find fertile grow to sow the seeds of civil war. Yugoslavia was a beautiful country, so was Lebanon both were wrecked over past grievances. Only the sellers of weapons won. Today the world press is about the only group that can get peace to happen. Too bad it isn't in their interest to have peace. From their coverage one would time they were for peace. Take a 2nd look violence gets attention, creates ratings, gets ad dollars. The press is a WHORE. I shouldn't insult the women of the night by tying them to the press. If the press truly wanted peace what would they be doing? 1)They would show how it was in the combatants vested interest to have peace break out in the region. 2)Acknowledge that the people have the intellect to govern themselves. 3)Use the movie Lawrence of Arabia as a vehicle to show what can be done. 4) I'm sure there are many other items if the press truly wished to be responsible leaders.

We need to go door to door, via the voting registration lists, and drag every republican out of their home, and have them arrested for treason. This nation will never be free of terror with the scourge of the Republican allowed to roam free, spreading filth and perversion. The greatest hero of the Republican party was himself a pedophile. http://www.voxfux.com/features/bush_child_sex_coverup/franklin.htm This human garbage thrives on the expliotation, rape and molestation of our nation's children. http://www.armchairsubversive.com/ STOP REPUBLICAN PEDOPHILIA.... I know how to win the war on terror! And I can sum up the strategy in just one word, RIDICULE. A few years ago, a satellite tv station in Los Angeles was broadcasting to the mainly ex-patriot Iranian population in California. One day, a technician accidentally redirected the signal, and it ended up, (no joke) in Iran. The Iranians quickly started watching the program, which satirized and lampooned the strict, backwards, and intolerant Mullahs. Some of the comedy sketches showed a clip from the Mullah's own mounth. These knuckle-draggers were preaching against horrible events in the country, like how he saw a girl riding a bicycle and eating pizza! Yes, terrible things like that. Soon, the Iranians stopped revering these Mullahs, and began laughing at them. This is what we have to do with the insurgents. Portray them as the stupid, confused, selfish little children they really are. Once people begin ridiculing them, their power of intimidation is vastly decreased. If you want to defeat your enemy, make him look like a pathetic loser. Once the Iranians and Iraqis see these people for what they really are, their numbers will dwindle.

I always fly American - I flew Delta a couple of times, but for some reason prefer American - and I really can't tell you why.
2 :
Neither one. If you want a good flight and if they are available in your area go with either Frontier or Southwest. I have flown almost every airline and none can beat the comfort and rates of those two airlines. I have to fly between 5-10 times a year all over the country.
3 :
From past experience American is better. My aunt used Delta when flying to Florida to visit my grandfather, and had massive problems with Delta's baggage and the flight in general. She was so angry by the time she got back home to NC that she called us all to tell her horror story! She swore that she would never use Delta again, so I truly believe that American would be the better choice for you and your daughter. Have fun at the graduation and congrats to the graduate.
