Light snow should not affect your flight that much. At most they may de-ice the plane.

It takes a lot of snow to delay an airport 20+ min plus. They will run slower to the runway, and they will de-ice the aircraft for your safety. Hope this helps!

was 1/2 hour late out of Dallas this morning due to de-icing.

If they get snow, it wont be an issue. What does cause issues is if your flying into an airport that does have weather- currently the east coast has a lot of rain which is causing some delays- that could be an issue but I wouldnt worry about it much (or if a major airport is delayed- that causes backlogs and sometimes delays flights even in a city that is sunny because maybe your airplane was delayed in that city leaving etc). Just check before you head to the airport click on your airlines check status link and type your flight number in to verify its on time.

Is snow common for SAT? If it is, the airline should be very well prepared. I live in a snow area and it takes approximately 5-7 minutes to deice. And since we deice every morning typically in the winter, our crew is very experienced with this and we usually try to board and push early to keep the aircraft on time. If SAT is not experienced with a lot of snow or deicing experiences, it might take them a little bit longer. I wouldn't worry too much over it all.
