American Airlines turned my 3 hour layover in Dallas to 45 minutes. Can I change it

American Airlines turned my 3 hour layover in Dallas to 45 minutes. Can I change it?
I bought these tickets in about February. I'm going from San Antonio > Dallas > London > Nice originally I was going to have a 3 hour layover in Dallas..which I liked since it is such a huge airport. I just looked at my itinerary and it's now a 45 minute layover. There are flights from San Antonio to Dallas every few hours.. Can I change it? I'm just nervous I won't make the connection, because it would be a huge mess if the flight got delayed and I was unable to make my London flight. Or do you think I can handle it? it's all American Airlines. Except British Airways when I get to London

45 minutes is tight, but it's impossible to answer unless you also include airlines involved.

Firstly, they would not have changed it unless it was still within the minimum connecting times, and your checked in luggage will be transferred automatically. All you have to do is walk from one gate to another in the same terminal. However, try phoning them and expressing your concerns - they MAY decide to increase the delay without charge.

First the change occured most probably because of a schedule change or cancelation of the original flight. 45 minutes is enough, for Domestic/International transfer when it is only American involved, but it is better to have a little more time between flights, when you have more flights involved. Call American (or your travel agent, if you booked with an agent) and ask them to rebook you on an earlier flight from San Antonio to Dallas. They should do this with no charge, as it would be considered as involuntary rebooking.
