If you have a 1:30 pm flight, what time should you get to the airport?
The flight is from San Antonio, TX to Atlanta, Georgia this Friday...

You should generally get there an hour before the flight is to leave but I would go for 2 hours early. I was bumped off a flight once when I was an hour early.

I believe you should be there 2 hrs early.

You should arrive at the airport at 12 pm. You may have to go through extra security. If your flight is at 1:30 they will start boarding at 1 . Have fun in Atlanta

11:30 AM. Never assume anything goes according to plan when flying. There's the security check point, checking into your flight, checking luggage, and your flight might get cancelled. If you're there early enough, you could score a seat on another flight.

You should be fine arriving at 12:30. That means parked and INSIDE the terminal at 12:30. If you are not real familiar with that terminal you may be more comfortable being there by 12:00pm.

The general rule of thumb used to be 1 hr for domestic flights and 2 hrs for international. Lately a lot of airports have bumped it up to 2 hrs for domestic flights and 3 hrs for international flights. Depending on the airline and airport they tend to vary. I know that when flying out of ATL they refuse to check you in with luggage if its less than 45 mins prior to departure (and do they stick to it, got there once 44 minutes prior to departure and they bumped me to the later flight).

It is better to be 2 hours early than it is to be one minute late. When the airline closes the flight (usually 30 minutes to one hour before the flight departure), there is no negotiating.

always go 3 hrs early...speacilly during summer time the lines tend to get longer

About 12:00-12:30 should be fine if you only have carry-ons. If you don't have checked bags you can check in online tomorrow (Thursday) starting at 1:30 pm and go straight through security when you get to the airport. If you're checking bags, be there no later than noon (11:45-12:00 should be good). You'll check in on a kiosk and it will give you the option to check bags, you'll hit the # of bags, and the tags will print up at the ticket counter. You take the bags, the agent slaps the tags on, puts them on the belt and you head through security. The only wild card is how long the security line is, as your SAT-ATL flight is pretty open availability-wise so waiting in line to check your bags should not be an issue at all.
