What is the best way to book a flight and car rental

What is the best way to book a flight and car rental?
I'm planning a trip from Los Angeles, CA to San Antonio, TX and I want to make sure I get the best price for airfare and car rental. I will be traveling in early November. I have been shopping around on some internet travel planning sites and it's so overwhelming. I don't know what are the best times to fly or anything.

My husband and I always fly Continental, and we find that the best time to fly is the last flight out and the last flight coming back. (We live in NJ and fly in/out of Newark.) The last flights in and out are usually pretty empty, so we have a great chance of getting a free upgrade plus better service. If you book everything together, you save a little money. I would recommend Orbitz.com. We use it a lot and its very reliable. The best way to get the cheapest rental car rate is to pick up and drop off at the same location. Also, some times renting it out for a whole week is actually cheaper than renting it for just a day or two, so I would suggest going on Hertz.com or Avis.com and playing around with the dates.

southwest should be your cheapest airline, then try dollar rental (economy cars). join any clubs you need to get upgrades/discounts. also, try calling the airlines and ask for recommendations for on-line sales.

contact your travel agent or the airline you wish to take (philippine or american). explain your situation.
2 :
go to the philippine air line at the manila airport and get a ticket there
3 :
you can't get a one-way ticket to San Antonio from Manila. you'll have to take a connecting flight from a major city like LA, San Francisco, or Las Vegas.
4 :
What it most probably means is that there are no direct flights from Manila to San Antonio. The more common scenario is a flight from Manila to LA, then LA to SA.
5 :
Most online travel sites including Orbitz do not support flights coming out of Manila. These sites are only available for searches within the US and select international markets (and Manila is not one of them). For your flight information, you need to go directly to the website of an airline, like PAL or Cathay Pacific. http://www.philippineairlines.com/home/home.jsp http://www.cathaypacific.com/cpa/en_INTL/homepage If you choose PAL, from Manila, you cannot fly directly to San Antonio. You need to get a ticket bound for San Francisco, Los Angeles or Las Vegas and from there, get a flight to SA. If I'm doing it correctly, I believe Cathay Pacific has a direct flight to San Antonio for a little less than $2,000.

go to BookMe. You can compare prices on all the major travel sites from one location. It's the only way you can guarantee the cheapest prices online.

Send it via "Air" freight. Plane can't land? use a Chopper Chopper can't land? Call in an "Air" drop All else fails, go horse back.

Pack lightly, take your ten essentials and nothing luxurious. Camping in the backcountry in Yellowstone will require a backcountry permit which you can get at a ranger's station in the park. Get a large hiking pack and take ONLY what you will need!! Remember that anything you pack in, you are going to have to pack back out. This means leave no trace that you were ever in the woods. If you have never been on a hiking trip before, it is a good idea to take a small weekend trip on a well-defined trail to see what you will need and won't need before you take any longer trips. BY THE WAY, you can't do an air drop into a national park. use your brain. Often times you can rent some forms of camping gear at REI stores. Things such as camping stoves, tents, sleeping bags, etc. Make sure to condition before you go out on a long hike! Hope this helps!

I found a great fare on southwest to San Antonio for the big 12 championship game, but all the return flights are sold out. That's why I need a one way ticket back.

i'm a reservation agent for several hotels in san antonio, your problem is going to be finding a place to stay this weekend. most of San antonio is sold out right now.
2 :
Some of the budget airlines like JetBlue offer one-way fares. If that doesn't work out it's probably cheaper to buy another roundtrip ticket, set the return for a phony date and not use it. The airlines don't like you to do this but then I don't know why one-way fares are more expensive than roundtrip fares.

There is a link called "one way tickets." It's located underneath the links that say # of Travelers and Flight Preference. Good luck!
